It's rare we are truly surprised by a hotel room, but our Royal Suite completely blew us away and will be the benchmark we compare others to for I expect years and years to come. Yes it was "expensive" compared to so many of the riads around, but at $200/night wasn't much more than a standard Best Western in the US. For that money though we had a 2 floor, 3 bed, 2 full bathroom *experience*, worth every penny. The master bath was stunning with a stucco/clay/? minaret-ish shower you'd have to see to believe, and throughout the suite it was a moroccan wonder. The rooftop pool felt amazing after a long, hot day walking the medina, and a new litter of kittens entertained us every breakfast. Nadia was phenomenally helpful, and Baha always greeted us with a smile even at 1am as we returned from a late night at Jemaa el-Fnaa (only 5 minutes away!). One of our top 3 hotel experiences ever, anywhere, at any price!

This is a gem of a hotel. The personal touches from start to finish made our stay comfortable and stress free. The staff were all friendly and helpful - the waiting staff were particularly lovely. Special mention to Zachariah (sp?) who let me practice my French on him each day even though his own English was much better! The food here was the best we tasted in all of Morocco. We had many chicken tagines - but the first we had here remains the best, and the mint tea and pastries were divine! (and the fresh flatbread at breakfast … and the fresh orange juice…! I could go on…) The location is great too. The same view as the roof top of El Fenn without the price tag. Oh… and finally the smell that gently wafts through the Riad thanks to an oil burner and the same scent in the bathroom soap etc. I will miss that now I’m back home with my dog!!

Great location in the heart of the Medina, In walking distance of all the main attractions. Traditional Riad with cool, quiet tree filled central square, a haven from the busy and noisy Souks and the heat of the afternoon where you can hear the birds sing whilst enjoying a mint tea and Morrocan pastries. Rooms were clean and tidy with comfortable beds. Traditional fully tiled en-suite bathrooms with showers and all day hot water. All the staff were excellent from the cleaners, kitchen staff, waiters to the managers. All very friendly and helpful with anything you needed and full of good advice from organising taxis and day trips, printing out maps and showing the best routes to the locations and providing info on sites to visit. The attitude and genuine friendliness of the staff really enhanced our stay.

We booked a superior room with terrace and I knew that there were lots of stairs to access the room. I informed the hotel before we arrived that this might be a problem and in fact it was. I had to face the fact that we are not fit for stairs any more! The manager was super and after the first night moved us down to the Royal Suite on the ground floor. All the staff were very helpful particularly Zakariah (not sure of spelling sorry). We had a lovely stay and the riad was within easy walking distance of the Jemaa el Fna but not noisy.

Gillian

The staff are friendly and it was a very relaxing environment. Very close to the medina and all the restaurants and cafes. The bed was large and the place had a feel of Morocco which added to the experience. The terraces catch the sun all day and it’s nice to sit there and read. In light of there just having been an earthquake, the pool was out of action for repairs. But we did get an upgrade to a suite and that was awesome. Good price, excellent location and lovely staff.
